Gateway Power Equipment opened its doors in King George, Virginia in 2009 and has grown into the largest outdoor power equipment center in the Northern Neck. We're employee-owned and operated, and we've kept the same philosophy since day one: pay attention to what each customer actually needs and fix it right the first time.
What started as small engine sales and repair has grown to cover outdoor power equipment, marine mud motors, diesel equipment, and welding — with in-shop service, mobile repair, and pickup & delivery across King George and the surrounding Virginia and Maryland counties.

Jason Hollowell began his career in the outdoor power equipment industry in 1992 and has dedicated more than three decades to mastering the service, repair, and maintenance of small engines and power equipment.
Throughout his career, Jason has completed extensive manufacturer training with some of the industry's leading names, including Briggs & Stratton, Kohler Engines, Kawasaki, Honda, STIHL, Husqvarna, Shindaiwa, Cub Cadet, Generac, Hydro-Gear, and numerous other manufacturers. This broad technical experience allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge, hands-on expertise, and practical problem-solving skills to every customer and every piece of equipment he services.
Outside of his professional career, Jason is a retired firefighter and EMT, reflecting his longstanding commitment to serving and helping his community. When he's not working, Jason enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, valuing the opportunity to step away from the shop and enjoy the people who matter most.
Jason is also a certified Rifle Instructor through the NRA, USA Shooting, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). He is the founder of the King George Marksmanship Program, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting responsible participation in shooting sports, firearm safety, and safe handling education.
With decades of technical experience and a strong commitment to service, education, and his community, Jason brings the same dedication and professionalism to every customer he serves.
Matt Crenshaw has been part of the outdoor power equipment industry for more than 22 years, bringing a lifetime of experience, passion, and dedication to everything he does. Born and raised in Southern Maryland, Matt has always had a deep connection to the outdoors and the lifestyle that comes with it.
While Matt enjoys deer hunting, duck hunting is his true passion. He especially enjoys being in the field with the Delta Waterfowl Group and TSS Outdoors, where he has found a community that shares his love for waterfowl hunting and conservation. One of the things Matt is most passionate about is introducing youth and others to hunting and encouraging people to get outside and experience everything the outdoors has to offer.
Some of Matt's favorite days are spent in the blind with his son, Landon. When he's not duck hunting, you'll likely find Matt on the water bowfishing, soaking up the sun, or simply enjoying time outdoors.
Matt has also shared more than 20 years with his wife, his partner through it all, and someone he says he can't imagine a day without.
Matt's passion for hunting, bowfishing, and keeping others connected to the outdoors is what makes him our Lead Gator Tail Technician. For Matt, it's about more than the work—it's about creating opportunities for people to get outside, enjoy the outdoors, make memories, and keep the hunting tradition alive for the next generation.
Meet Whitney Crenshaw, the first friendly face you'll see when you walk through the doors of Gateway!
Whitney has been part of the outdoor power equipment industry for more than 17 years, bringing years of experience, knowledge, and a genuine love for helping customers to her work every day. Born and raised in King George County, Virginia, Whitney is proud to call this community home.
When she's not at Gateway, you'll most likely find Whitney on the water. She loves everything from kayaking and bowfishing to simply soaking up the sunshine and searching for sea glass. Her adventures are often accompanied by her Rottweiler, Millie, who is a familiar face at Gateway and proudly "works" alongside Whitney every day.
Outside of work and her time on the water, Whitney enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Matthew Crenshaw, have been together for more than 20 years, and they share one son. When Whitney has some downtime, she loves heading north to spend time with her Maryland family.
Whitney brings her heart, personality, and dedication to Gateway every day—and if you've visited us, chances are you've already been greeted by her and Millie!
